Cookbooks

Containing more than 600 of the author's favorite recipes, many of them compiled and collected from family, friends, and guests -- including former First Lady Rosalynn Carter -- the books contain recipes for every occasion, from down home to gourmet.

Recipes for high tea, brunches, lunches, and sit-down meals are included, as are abundant numbers of appetizers, sorbets, soups, salads, entrées, vegetables, breads, preserves, desserts, pies, cakes, and cookies.

A Note From the Author...

The characters and stories in the pages of these cookbooks are like various colored threads interwoven with the threads of others, making up the fabric of my life; thus, the weaving goes on from generation to generation and each of us affects the lives of those we happen to meet in the walk of life...

Memories abound as I recount to guests my recollections of the genteel men and women who had the tenacity and desire to stay on the Plateau and leave behind a legacy of character and strength. It is my hope that the narration in these books, a collection of those stories shared with my guests, will reflect the traditions and character of the people who lived in this unique blend of lifestyles and customs.

Please accept our invitation to visit Grey Gables and our community through the pages of these books and enjoy the food prepared at our Inn through the shared recipes.
